Brenda Fam was elected to serve on the School Board of Broward County in 2022, representing District 6.

Mrs. Fam’s aspiration for all Broward County children is to dream big and possess the knowledge and skills to pursue their dreams. She believes all students deserve the opportunity to explore life and turn their passion into a career and profession. Her credo is for all students to believe in themselves, learn lessons when they fall and get back up, be strong and never give up, and know they are not defined by their background or family income.

Mrs. Fam practices what she preaches. Because of public school teachers who encouraged her, she was able to use education as a catapult to a better life. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching, two specialty certifications to teach in High School, and a Juris Doctorate in Law. She has 30+ years’ legal experience including serving as Assistant State Attorney, managing her own law practice, serving as an Adjunct Law Professor at Nova Southeastern University, and volunteering as a certified Guardian Ad Litem, First Responder.

Mrs. Fam is a public-school advocate, a champion for students, a proud mother and wife, and cancer survivor. Her husband of 30 years immigrated from Egypt to pursue the American dream. She resides in Davie.

As a member of the school board, Mrs. Fam advocates for Broward County families who rely on public education as a path to opportunity and success for their children.
