Jill Humpherys is a public education advocate who has served on the Gilbert School Board since December 2012. She and her husband, Richard have been married for 39 years and have raised 5 children, all of whom attended and graduated from Gilbert Public Schools and college. In 2021, Jill was the first recipient of the School Connect Collaborative Leadership Award for her work on community engagement. She served on the Arizona School Board Association Board of Directors representing Maricopa County from 2017-2021. She works with state-wide public education advocacy groups, including Save Our Schools, Arizona School Boards Association, and Education Forward Arizona, to promote the needs of district schools at the State Capitol. During her service on the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board, Jill has supported gifted education and the performing arts, encouraged the development of the ASPIRE program for administrators, helped pass the override and bond elections of 2015 and 2019, increased salaries for teachers and staff, created more options for students, voted for updated curriculum, and supported secure school facilities and security cameras in GPS schools.
