EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Aldine Independent School District is one of the largest school districts in Texas. Covering over 110 square miles in North Harris County, Aldine has an enrollment of nearly 67,000 students.

When students return to schools in the Aldine Independent School District on August 16,2021 they will not be required to wear masks. While the city of Houston and two surrounding counties are defying the Governor’s executive order that lifts requirements for all mask mandates, the Aldine School District plans to uphold the executive order and make masks optional for students and staff.
