According to Le Sueur County News, Tri-City United School Board Member, Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Flicek, who is running for reelection, “was sentenced to two years [of supervised] probation for stealing more than $8,400 from an elderly customer.” Flicek pleaded guilty and was charged with “felony financial card fraud.”
Flicek was a former Wells Fargo employee, according to court records. She was let go in 2018 for “taking financial advantage of an elderly Wells Fargo Bank customer.”
In April 2021, the felony charge was initially filed against Flicek. The school board voted to appoint Flicek on January 10, 2022. Le Sueur County News reports that as a resigning board member, she will fulfill the remainder of her term through the end of 2022. Additionally, she will remain on the November ballot for possible reelection.
Le Sueur County News states that “When asked if the School Board was aware of the charge against Flicek at the time of her appointment, TCU School Board Chair Marsha Franek declined to comment.”
