EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. WJCCPS has a total of 16 schools in operation with over 11,600 students. 

WJCCPS has implemented a mask mandate for the entirety of the 2021-22 school year. The mandate forces students, staff, and visitors to wear a mask when inside schools at all times. The mandate is also in effect regardless of vaccination status.

WJCCPS has an Equity Team that, according to the district, is responsible for addressing equity issues within WJCC Public Schools. The team also implemented equity strategies and plans throughout the district.

The Williamsburg-James City County School Board generally meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are held either in Building F of the James City County Complex or at the Stryker Building in Williamsburg. James City County members represent election districts, and city members are appointed by the Williamsburg City Council and serve at-large. The board oversees a budget of $167.475 million.
