Worcester Public Schools
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Worcester Public Schools is the second largest public school district in the state of Massachusetts. The district has 45 total schools in operation with an enrollment of just over 25,000 students.
Worcester Public Schools Board of Education voted to mandate masks for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status for the 2021-2022 school year. This follows the same decision that was made by the largest district in the state, Boston Public Schools. In Worcester, 34% of residents ages 12 to 15 are fully vaccinated, as are 38% of residents 16 to 19, according to data as of Aug. 3 from the state Department of Public Health.
Districts across the state of Massachusetts have been exposed for teaching principles of Critical Race Theory. There have been many “workshops” to discuss Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and hosting “healing spaces” for minority students across the state.
