According to the Texas Scorecard, Wylie ISD has been accused of illegally electioneering during the school board races. “The mailers, produced and distributed by the district at local taxpayers’ expense, claim to present ‘the facts’ and counter ‘misinformation’ about key campaign issues” in the election.

An attorney representing the citizens of the district sent out a cease and desist letter on Sunday, November 7, 2022, reminding district officials that “the Texas Education Code prohibits the expense of WISD funds (i.e., taxpayer money) in this manner.”
Wylie Independent School District has more than 18,300 students enrolled across 20 schools.
